Table of Contents is on the Format menu. Table of Contents sets the style and format of your printed table of contents pages. Table of Contents has the following options:
List Headlines Sets the levels of headlines to be included in the table of contents.
Text Format Sets the format of the text in the table of contents. The options are:
Font Displays a pop-up menu of the available fonts. MORE uses the selected font for the whole table of contents listing. The default is to print the table of contents in the font of its companion headline.
Size Displays a pop-up menu of the available font sizes. MORE uses the selected font for the whole table of contents listing. The default is to print the table of contents in the font size of its companion headline.
Use Headline Style Prints each table of contents listing the style of its companion headline, when selected.
Use Headline Color Prints each table of contents listing in the nearest color to the companion headline if you have a color printer and a Macintosh II computer. (This option is not available on any other computer.) If unselected, the color is black.
Page Numbers Sets the page numbering for the sections and subheads in the table of contents. Sections are the main listings in a table of contents and Subheads are their subordinate and indented listings. When either is selected, a pop-up menu is displayed listing the available page number formats.
Headline Layout Sets the layout of headlines in the table of contents. The options are:
Fold Headline Text Displays the first line of a wrapped headline. If unselected, then all lines of wrapped headlines will appear in the table of contents listings.
Include Headline Labels Includes the headline labels. If unselected, then the table of contents listings will not include the labels of companion headlines.
Use Text Justification Uses the same text justification settings for tables of contents and companion headlines. If unselected, then text justification will be flush left to the page.
Use Outline Spacing Uses the same outline spacing settings for tables of contents and companion headlines. If unselected, then the table of contents listings will be single-spaced.
Use Outline Indent Uses the same left indent settings for tables of contents and companion headlines. If unselected, then the table of contents listings will be flush left.
OK Accepts the table of contents settings.
After selecting the various settings in the Table of Contents dialog, be sure to check the Table of Contents box in the Preview/Options window to turn on the printing of the table of contents pages. Also, check their effect in the Preview window. MORE prints tables of contents last. If necessary, return to the Table of Contents command and make any desired changes.
